Miranda Leigh Lambert was born on November 10, 1983, in Longview, Texas, to Rick and Bev Lambert. Growing up in Lindale, Texas, she was named after her great-grandmother, Lucy Miranda. Miranda's early life was marked by her family's struggles during the oil crisis, which led them to lose everything. However, they later found stability by starting a faith-based ministry, offering shelter to victims of domestic violence. This experience deeply influenced her music, inspiring songs like "Gunpowder & Lead." Miranda began her musical journey in high school, performing with the Texas Pride Band and at the Reo Palm Isle, a venue with a rich history in country music.

Career

Miranda's career took off when she released her self-titled debut album in 2001. She gained national attention in 2003 by finishing third on the reality show Nashville Star. Shortly after, she signed with Epic Records and released her debut single, "Me and Charlie Talking," in 2004, leading to the successful album Kerosene.
