Early Life

Safura Alizadeh, an Azerbaijani pop singer, was born into a creative family, with her father being a professional painter and her mother a pianist. She began her musical journey at a young age, making her first stage appearance at just six years old. Safura honed her skills in children's bands such as "Sharg Ulduzlari" and "Bulbullar" and received formal training in violin and piano at the Baku Musical School No2. Additionally, she learned to play the saxophone, showcasing her versatility as a musician. After graduating from school No23 in Baku, she pursued further education at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts before moving to Sweden.

Career

Safura's career took a significant turn when she won the eighth season of the national contest "Pop Idol" in 2009, which catapulted her into the spotlight. She represented Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with her hit song "Drip Drop," where she achieved an impressive fifth place finish. Her debut album, "It's My War," further solidified her status in the pop music scene, allowing her to showcase her unique sound and artistic vision.

Personal Life

On July 5, 2013, Safura married Farhad Aliyev, the son of Azerbaijan's Minister of Industry and Energy, Natig Aliyev. The couple has three children together: two sons born in 2014 and 2019, and a daughter born in 2017. Safura's family life remains an important aspect of her identity, balancing her career with her role as a mother.
