September

Early Life

Petra Linnea Paula Marklund, known professionally as September, was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Growing up in a musically inclined family, with a Slovenian mother who participated in music contests and a Swedish father who is a professor, Petra was affectionately nicknamed the "September child" by her family, which later inspired her stage name. She began her musical journey at the tender age of twelve, recording in professional studios, but her commercial breakthrough came later.

Career

September's career took off when she was discovered by producer Hans Edler in 1998. Her first album, "Teen Queen," released in 1999, did not achieve success. However, her fortunes changed dramatically with the release of her debut single "La La La (Never Give It Up)" in 2003, which peaked at number 8 in Sweden. This success led to her self-titled album, "September," released in 2004, featuring hits like "We Can Do It" and "September All Over." Over the years, her music evolved from dance-pop to more introspective themes, showcasing her distinctive vocal range and a shift towards Swedish-language music in the 2010s.

Personal Life

Since 2009, September has resided in London, where she pursued dance studies. She became a mother in 2016 and welcomed her second child in September 2018. Her artistic journey reflects a blend of personal growth and musical evolution, making her a notable figure in the electronic dance music scene.
