Early Life
Sonny John Moore, known professionally as Skrillex, was born on January 15, 1988, in the United States. He was adopted by family friends of his biological parents and spent his early years in the Highland Park neighborhood of Northeast Los Angeles before moving to San Francisco. At the age of 12, he returned to Los Angeles, where he attended a private academy specializing in the arts. His teenage years were marked by a passion for music, attending punk gigs and electro club raves, which would later influence his career.

Skrillex began his music career in 2004 as the lead vocalist of the post-hardcore band From First to Last. The band released their debut album, "Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count," in June 2004, followed by their second album, "Heroine," in 2006. After suffering vocal problems, Moore left the band in 2007 to pursue a solo career. He quickly gained recognition as a solo artist, releasing several EPs, including "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" and "Bangarang," which helped define the dubstep genre.
