Three Days Grace

Formation

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band that originated in Norwood, Ontario, initially forming in 1992 under the name Groundswell. The original lineup included lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer Neil Sanderson, bassist Brad Walst, lead guitarist Phil Crowe, and rhythm guitarist Joe Grant. After releasing their debut album, "Wave of Popular Feeling," in 1995, the band disbanded in 1995 but regrouped in 1997 as Three Days Grace, with Gontier, Sanderson, and Walst continuing as core members.

Breakthrough

The band quickly gained traction in the music industry, signing with Jive Records after the success of their single "I Hate Everything About You." Their self-titled debut album, released in 2003, showcased their post-grunge sound and included hits like "Just Like You" and "Home." Over the years, they released several successful albums, including "One-X" (2006), "Life Starts Now" (2009), and "Transit of Venus" (2012), solidifying their place in the rock genre.

Legacy

Three Days Grace has been recognized for their significant impact on the rock music scene, with multiple songs reaching the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. They are known for their powerful lyrics and have been influential in the post-grunge movement, with hits like "Never Too Late" and "Animal I Have Become" becoming iconic. The band continues to perform and release music, with Matt Walst taking over as lead vocalist in 2013, ensuring their legacy endures in the rock music landscape.
