Early Life

Bella Poarch, born Belinda Marie Macadengdeng Batumbakal on February 9, 1997, in the Philippines, had a challenging upbringing. Raised by her grandmother in impoverished conditions until the age of three, she was later adopted and moved to the United States. At 13, she relocated with her family to San Francisco and eventually settled in Texas. Poarch's journey took a significant turn when she enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2017, serving as an aviation ordnanceman for three years, with stations in Japan and Hawaii.

Career

Poarch's rise to fame began in January 2020 when she created her TikTok account, initially posting gaming and cosplay content. Her breakthrough came in August 2020 with a viral lip-sync video to Millie B's "M to the B," which became the most liked video on TikTok. Following this success, she launched a YouTube channel and signed a record deal with Warner Records in May 2021. Her debut single, "Build a Bitch," released on May 14, 2021, was inspired by her experiences with bullying and aimed to empower listeners. Poarch's music blends pop and dark pop elements, and she has since released several singles, including "INFERNO" and "Dolls."

Personal Life

Residing in Los Angeles, Poarch is also known for her advocacy for the Asian-American community, particularly in light of rising anti-Asian hate crimes. She has openly shared her experiences with bullying and sexual assault, aiming to raise awareness and support for others. In her personal life, she married Tyler Poarch in 2019 but filed for divorce in November 2022, which was finalized in October 2023. Despite facing challenges, Bella Poarch continues to inspire many through her music and social media presence.
