Early Life

Eivør Pálsdóttir, known simply as Eivør, was born and raised in Syðrugøta, Faroe Islands. She showcased her musical talent early on, making her first televised performance at the tender age of 13. This early exposure set the stage for a remarkable career in music.

Career

Eivør's professional journey began in 1999 when she became the lead singer of the band Clickhaze at just 15 years old. The following year, she released her debut self-titled album, "Eivør Pálsdóttir," and won the Prix Føroyar song contest in 2001 with Clickhaze. Her move to Reykjavík in 2002 to study music marked a significant turning point, leading to the release of her album with Yggdrasil. Eivør's second solo album, "Krákan," released in 2003, earned her nominations at the Icelandic Music Awards, where she won Best Singer and Best Performer, a rare honor for a non-Icelandic artist.

In 2004, she was named Ársins Føroyingur (Faroe Islander of the Year). Eivør's career continued to flourish with the release of her 2005 album featuring the DR Big Band, and her 2007 album "Mannabarn" (also released as "Human Child") showcased her versatility. By 2010, she had shifted her sound towards a more experimental and electronic style with the album "Larva." Eivør married composer Tróndur Bogason in 2012, the same year she released the award-winning album "Room."
