Early Life

Kim Hyun-ah, known professionally as Hyuna, was born on June 6, 1992, in Seodaemun District, Seoul, South Korea. She attended Choongam Middle School and the Korea High School of Music and Arts, showcasing her early passion for music. Hyuna later graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in Contemporary Arts, having received special admission due to her talents.

Career Beginnings

Hyuna's career began in 2006 when she was revealed as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls under JYP Entertainment. She participated in their debut mini album, "The Wonder Begins," released in February 2007, and co-hosted the show "Show! Music Core". However, due to health concerns, she left the group in July 2007. In 2008, she joined Cube Entertainment and debuted with the girl group 4Minute in June 2009, gaining significant popularity with their hit single "Hot Issue".

Solo Success

In 2010, Hyuna embarked on a solo career, characterized by her performance-oriented music style. Her debut single "Change" achieved commercial success, reaching number two on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. Over the years, she has released several EPs, including "Bubble Pop!", "MELTING", and "I'm Not Cool", solidifying her status as a prominent figure in the K-pop industry.

Personal Life

Hyuna has been open about her struggles with health issues, including depression and panic disorder, which she revealed in 2019. She has also been in the public eye for her relationships, notably with Pentagon member E'Dawn, with whom she got engaged in 2022. However, they announced their separation in late 2022. In 2024, it was announced that she would marry singer Yong Jun-hyung, marking a new chapter in her personal life.
