Early Life

Stefan Kendal Gordy, known professionally as Redfoo, was born on September 3, 1975, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of songwriter and producer Nancy Leiviska and Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown Records. Growing up in a musical family, Redfoo was exposed to the industry from a young age. He attended junior high school with notable figures like will.i.am and GoonRock, and graduated from Palisades Charter High School in 1993. Before his music career took off, he worked as a day trader and even appeared on CNBC's "Mad Money" with Jim Cramer. Interestingly, he is also a distant cousin of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.

Musical Career

Redfoo's music career began in the mid-1990s when he produced tracks for various artists, including his first major credit for the song "Back in the Day" by Ahmad. In 1997, he released his debut album, "Balance Beam," in collaboration with rapper Dre' Kroon. However, it was his formation of the electro-pop duo LMFAO with his half-nephew Sky Blu in 2006 that catapulted him to fame. The duo gained immense popularity with hits like "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy and I Know It," both of which topped the Billboard Hot 100. After releasing two successful albums, LMFAO disbanded in 2012, and Redfoo pursued a solo career, releasing the album "Party Rock Mansion" in 2016.

Personal Life

In his personal life, Redfoo has had notable relationships, including a two-year romance with Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka. He has a daughter, born in 2023, with his partner Jasmine Alkouri. Beyond music, Redfoo has a passion for tennis, attempting to qualify for the US Open in 2013 and participating in beach tennis events. He also ventured into coding in 2017 and hosted a hackathon at his home in 2022, showcasing his diverse interests beyond the music industry.
