Early Life

Kang Seul-gi, known mononymously as Seulgi, was born on February 10, 1994, in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Growing up in a supportive family with an older brother, she pursued her passion for music and performance from a young age. Seulgi attended Ansan Byeolmang Middle School and later the School of Performing Arts Seoul, where she honed her skills in singing and dancing. Fluent in both Korean and Japanese, she began her journey in the entertainment industry at the age of 13.

Career

Seulgi's career took off when she began training at SM Entertainment in 2007. She gained public attention as one of the first trainees introduced through the SM Rookies project in 2013. Her official debut came on August 1, 2014, as a member of the popular girl group Red Velvet. Seulgi quickly became known for her powerful vocals and dynamic dance skills, contributing to the group's success with hits like "Red Flavor" and "Bad Boy."
