Early Life

Anahí Giovanna Puente Portilla, known simply as Anahí, was born on May 14, 1983, in Mexico City, Mexico. She is the daughter of Enrique Puente López, a former singer turned television producer, and María del Consuelo "Marichelo" Portilla Gómez. Anahí has an older sister, Marichelo Puente, and a half-sister, Diana Puente Hidalgo. Her career began at a remarkably young age when she was cast in the children's television program Chiquilladas at just two years old.

Career

Anahí's acting career flourished as she starred in numerous telenovelas produced by Televisa, including Alondra, Vivo por Elena, and El Diario de Daniela. Her breakout role came in 2000 with Primer Amor... A Mil por Hora, followed by her iconic portrayal of Mia Colucci in the hit series Rebelde in 2004. This role not only solidified her status as a star but also led to the formation of the internationally successful music group RBD, which sold over 15 million records worldwide. Anahí's music career began with her debut album in 1993, and she continued to release several successful albums, including Mi delirio and Baby Blue, showcasing her evolution as a pop artist.

Personal Life

Anahí has faced significant personal challenges, including a battle with anorexia and bulimia in the early 2000s, which led to a heart attack. After extensive treatment, she became an advocate against eating disorders in Mexico, launching a campaign in 2008 to raise awareness. In addition to her health struggles, Anahí has been recognized for her beauty and talent, being named one of People en Español's "50 Most Beautiful" in 2010.
