Formation

RBD, a Mexican pop group, was formed on October 30, 2004, following the premiere of the popular telenovela "Rebelde," produced by Pedro Damian. The group consisted of six original members: Anahí, Alfonso Herrera, Dulce María, Christopher von Uckermann, Maite Perroni, and Christian Chávez. Just a month before their official formation, they released their debut single, "Rebelde," on September 30, 2004, which set the stage for their musical journey.

Breakthrough

Their self-titled debut album, "Rebelde," was released on November 11, 2004, by EMI and quickly became a commercial success, with all four singles reaching number one in Mexico. The album also made waves internationally, peaking at number 95 on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Latin Albums chart. In 2005, they released their second album, "Nuestro Amor," which further solidified their popularity, selling over 127,000 copies in Mexico alone. RBD's live performances were equally impressive, with their concert tour featuring 45 sold-out shows across Mexico.

Legacy

Despite their disbandment in 2009, RBD left an indelible mark on Latin pop culture, selling over 15 million records worldwide and becoming one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time. Their influence extended beyond music, as they became a cultural phenomenon among young audiences, leading to the creation of two TV series and numerous awards. RBD's legacy continues to resonate, with their music and impact still celebrated today.
